It is a matter of pride and immense pleasure that destiny has given me the opportunity to join Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology family as its head. I take this opportunity to welcome new students choosing this university for their higher education in various programmes. The serene environment and lush green surroundings of the University will prove to be a mesmerizing setting for higher attainments not only in their professional careers but also contribute significantly to their physical, mental, spiritual and intellectual growth. I can say this with full confidence that the university would provide every student a much expected opportunity of boundless growth through an integrated structure of curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
We wish to bring out the best in our students and prepare them to become competent enough to meet the challenges of the world, which now has become a global village. We would ensure that their stay at this University will be filled with excitement, enthusiasm and experiences that they might like to treasure for a lifetime.
There is no denying the fact that we are living in an age of rapid globalization and modernization of life. Our lives are propelled by the advancements in science, engineering and technology. Therefore, our aim is to provide the best possible environment for teaching, learning, research and public services as we strongly believe in the education of ‘hand and heart’ which gears the tempo of our civilization. I am of the opinion that a leader and an administrator should be reasonably good in problem solving skills, possess a high morale, ethical responsibility, integrity and vision along with good communication and an ability to motivate. The knowledge of our age old scriptures, Vedas and epics can empower us to maintain consistent mental balance in all kinds of circumstances leading to fruitful and effective meeting of our expected goals. We strongly believe that education is a catalyst for positive change and building strong, resilient and tolerant communities.
As a university we enjoy the autonomy and hence the freedom to choose how we develop young budding minds and tap hidden talents in the future leaders of our societies. That is why, we focus on professional development of our students along with their spiritual growth in order to equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to play a leading role in different sectors as well as making them grow into good human beings ready to rid the society of its deep rooted evils. But with freedom comes the higher sense of responsibility towards our mission. On the occasion of starting my journey as the new Vice Chancellor of this prestigious university I find myself well equipped to take all kinds of challenges towards streamlining the things in desirably better direction. That is why, I take this opportunity to mobilise all of you towards our endeavour to move faster with synergy, hope and positivity towards achievements of our goal for the 2022 roadmap. The ‘Vision 2022’ would target at the sustenance and growth of the university towards setting up various interdisciplinary labs, system for faculty development for dynamic, futuristic environment, teaching, research and implementing all kinds of quality standards.
In our mission to contribute to national development we all hope that DCRUST will become very soon a ‘Centre Of Excellence’ with a wonderful potential to develop confident leaders, independent thinkers and creative entrepreneurs and last but not the least good human beings, strong enough to resist all dehumanising agencies
I would like to conclude by quoting Guru Rabindranath Tagore that “The higher education is that which does not merely give us information but makes our life in harmony with our existence.”
